报告内容简介:
The fear to challenge the status quo in geo-engineering is an obstacle to advancing the science. There are many indicators to know that previous knowledge developed by our predecessors, while useful at the time of their development have reached their limits of applicability. While this observation may seem obvious to trigger the debate necessary for change, the fear of retribution from our predecessors with a potential to stifle the progress of the younger generation has restricted this debate. Consequently, the advancement of the science of geo-engineering is now limited what we have known in the past half-century with the result that this previous knowledge is recycled and sometimes with arguments that support flawed previous concepts and theory, all because of fear of retribution. This talk is intended to initiate legitimate debates on our pioneering predecessors’ contributions to geo-engineering, while acknowledging them as such, to enable us to move forward in advancing the science of geo-engineering with open-mindedness.
